John Senkeleski Obituary

John “Jack” Senkeleski, 86, of Forked River, NJ, peacefully completed his journey to be with God while surrounded by his family on February 12, 2026. Born in Jersey City, NJ and raised in Bayonne, NJ by his parents John and Julia “Anne” Senkeleski, Jack led life from the front with his bride and soulmate Rose Marie (nee Cerreta).  Together they created God-loving, family-first homes in Bayonne, Cranford, Little Silver and ultimately settling in Forked River, NJ.

First and foremost, Jack was devoted to the Blessed Mother and put his faith into action in his daily life. He was also an unwavering patriot and served his country in the United States Navy. As a loving and devoted husband and father, he dedicated every fiber of his being to his family, serving as a provider, role model and a hero to his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His life was full of meaning and achievement secured through hard work, true grit, loyalty, humility, humor and honesty. He was well-read and continuously pursued knowledge and enlightenment. With his wisdom, wit, and an unrivaled story-telling ability, he captivated countless friends and relatives and offered guidance and direction to all who sought it, and even a few who didn't. He was loved immensely and will be missed dearly-but he leaves a legacy that will inspire others to match his devotion to God, country and family.

Jack is predeceased by his parents and survived by his wife, Rose Marie, his children Janice and Gary Norwood, Joyce and John Shea, John and Dianne, James and Jamie, Joseph Patrick and his fiance Doris Tucker and Jeffrey and Kim, seventeen grandchildren, five (soon to be six) great-grandchildren, his two sisters, Mary Ann Manno and Gloria Bergman, and beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong and devoted friends.

In Jack’s memory, a Roman Catholic memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, February 17th at 11:00 AM at The Church of St. Pius X in Forked River.  In lieu of flowers, please say the Rosary with your family and any donations can be made to National Right to Life via  https://nrlc.org/donateinfo/
