Rita Aune

It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Rita Charlotte Aune at the age of 88, who departed this life peacefully on May 26th 2026.
 
Born on May 22nd 1938,  Rita  lived a long and meaningful life marked by devotion to her family, a strong work ethic, and a warm,
generous spirit that touched all who knew her. She was a loving mother, proud grandmother, and cherished great-grandmother.
Her family was the center of her world, and she took great joy in supporting, guiding, and celebrating each generation as it grew.

 A hardworking and determined woman, she led by example throughout her life, showing strength, resilience, and integrity in all she did.
 Outside of her work and family life, she found great happiness in attending antique shows and layter became an antique dealer.
 She enjoyed discovering unique pieces and connecting with others who shared her love of antiques.
 
Rita will be remembered for her kindness, her steady presence, and the love she so freely gave. Her legacy lives on through her children,
grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

She is survived by her brother Frank Jakubowski, Daughter Michele Yankura, Son-in-law Peter Yankura, Son Scott LaPelusa, Daughter-in-law Tracy LaPelusa,
Grand Children Sara Wienhold, Andrew LaPelusa, Jessica Goldblatt, Great GrandChildren Eleanor Wienhold, Kaleb LaPelusa, Jaxon and Shea Goldblatt
and is preceded in death by her husband Harald Aune, Sister Dorothy Scrozynski.

A celebration of her life will be held on May 29th 2026 from 2pm – 6pm at Layton's Funeral Home 250 West Lacey Road Forked River, NJ 08731,
where family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor her remarkable life.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 am on Saturday May 30 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Lacey Road in Forked River followed by a repast.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
